About

I am a postdoctoral research fellow at the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering, the university of Queensland, Australia, under Prof. Christopher Leonardi. My post doc reserach will focus of development of fluid solid coupling for applications in energy, mining, microfluidics and biomedicine. I will also working on computational modelling of heart to unveil the mechanics of heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases.
Research areas
Computational cardiac mechanics, finite element modelling, Computational fluid dynamics, Fluid structure interaction, lattice Boltzmann method, heat transfer, FEniCS and OpenFOAM.
Short bio
I finished bachelors in mechanical engineering from College of Engineering Thalassery, affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in 2016. I have received the fifth rank in the university for the same. In 2019, I finished my masters in heat power engineering from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur (VNIT) by receiving academic excellence award and institute medal for securing highest CGPA. I continued in the institue till July 2020 as a Junior reserach fellow on a project entitled “Development of fluid-structure interaction solvers to analyse cerebral anuerysm” funded by DST, India. In September 2020 started my PhD at university of Queensland and Indian institute of technology Delhi, reserach academy (UQIDRA) on ``computational analysis on the mechanics of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction’’ . My PhD reserach focused on the understanding the underlying mechanics of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) using continum mechanics based computational methods. I worked on the FEniCS based in-house finite element solvers provided by Prof. Lik Chuan Lee, MSU, USA and Prof. Sheikh Mohammad Shavik BUET. I defended my PhD thesis on 18 February 2026.
Outside research
I like to do sketching eventhough I am not an expert in it. I have uploaded some of my pen/pencil sketches in the Hobbies section of this website.
